| You are looking at one of the nicest 1954 Corvette's in exsistance today. This is the car that made an appearance at Zora Duntov's Birthday in 1977. The car had a complete frame off restoration in the early 80's and was just repainted and had all trim finished in 2008 to get ready for NCRS Judging.
Inspection break down:
BODY: The body is in excellent condition showing no signs of collision or damage. The fit of the doors, top panel and trunk are excellent. The hood fit is great for a 1954 Corvette. The car has an excellent body for a 1954 Corvette.
PAINT: The paint color is correct Polo White and is excellent in terms of gloss, texture and quality. The paint is in show condition.
EXTERIOR: The glass, wheels, reproduction White wall tires, stainless trim, hub caps and emblems appear to be in excellent condition, however the tires do have some dry rott cracks on the inside. The chrome is also in excellent condition along with an excellent Beige soft top. The windshield is correct and dated April 1954 (KZ) and the plexeglass side windows are dated Jan and Feb 1954 (1-54, 2-54). The headlights are correct T3 as is the window bag, trunk mat (4645541), spare tire and radio antenna molded to the inside of the trunk lid.
FRAME: Frame and underbody are in excellent showing no signs of rust, damage or repair. The car has been frame off restored between 1977 - 1981. The frame, suspension, brakes, lines, exhaust and drive train are correct and appear to be in excellent condition and very original. The car looks great on the underside and is still of show quality with some age. The transmission is the correct iron powerglide with part numbers 3708288 and 3702802 date coded Feb 18 1954 (B184) and march 5 1954 (C54). The rear end is the correct housing, but all of the stamped assembly date was unlegable, The stamp read MW315? (March 1 1954). MW is the correct code for a 1954 Corvette with a 3:55 ratio.
ENGINE: This is a very correct car with a numbers matching engine. The serial number indicates this car was built in mid April 1954. The block is casting number 3835911 witch is correct for this car. The engine assembly date is not stamped on these early cars. The pad is stamped with a sequence number (0435155) and F54YG (FLINT 1954). YG indicates a 235 6-cyl 155hp motor 3X1B.C and powerglide. The head is correct (3836241) as is the intake and three carter carbs. (2066SA) and dated Jan 5 1954 (A45). The rest of the engine compartment components are correct and well detailed including the wiper motor, master cylinder (5456022), sheilding, air cleaner, valve cover, windsheild washer jar and exhaust manifolds. The generator is the correct part number (1102793) dated March 8 1954 (4C8). The distributer appears correct but the number, date code band could not be read. The Harrison radiator (3130953) dated March 1954 (54C) and starter (1108035) dated April 9 1954 (4F09) wich went into protuction mid March are also correct.
OPTIONS: Options include the powerglide transmission, reproduction White wall tires, heater, directional signals, wonder bar radio, park brake alarm, courtesy lights and windsheild washer.
INTERIOR: The interior is the correct Red vinyl. The door panels, carpet, seats and dash are in excellent condition. The gauges and clock are also in excellent condition and the original wonder bar radio.
If you are a Corvette enthusiast and on the hunt for a very correct 1954 Corvette this is it. This car has not been for sale from a dealer since purchaed new and has been with a private collector for many, many years.
