The final year for the C3 and the first full production year at the Bowling Green Assembly plant, 1982 was a banner year for the Corvette. This car represents this stunning achievement with its understated, yet mysterious Silver/Charcoal paint scheme and eye-catching 16 inch wheels. Although not original, these wheels complement this car's colors nicely with their charcoal metallic lace and highly polished deep dish lips. Corvette logo center caps finish these wheels off nicely and would easily fool the non-Corvette enthusiast. These wheels come wrapped in super high performance BF Goodrich Comp T/A tires which are in great shape, showing no dry rot and nearly 85% tread remaining. Paint is older, but still overall very good. A bubble about the size of a golf ball is present on the top of the driver's fender, right next to the front driver side corner of the hood. There is also a scratch on the side of the same fender, several inches in length. Otherwise, this paint has tons of shine and looks fantastic. Rear bumper shows some slight waviness on the spoiler that is typical of these cars. Chrome outside door handles show very well, with just the very slightest signs of pitting beginning to form. Weatherstripping appears to be new and is extremely soft and pliable. The driver's side t-top is a slightly different tint than the passenger's, and also has two large cracks that are only visible from inside the car. Both t-tops have had a locking mechanism added. Interior is overall very nice; dash pad shows some waviness from heat and age, but no apparent cracks. Steering wheel is non-original, but still shows a Corvette logo horn button and matches the rest of the interior, although the leather wrap on it is slightly faded. A set of Kenwood 6x9 speakers sit in the back, which are powered by a Pioneer CD stereo. Seats are in very good condition, showing no cracking, rips, or tears. Tachometer does not appear to be working at this time. Glovebox experiences latching issues which are typical of 1978-82 Corvettes. Carpet looks to be original, and is showing typical separation from the center console, which is in excellent shape except for some fading on the gear indicator. Engine compartment is overall very correct, with a remanufactured a/c compressor and a recent remanufactured alternator. Additionally, the air conditioning system has been converted to the newer R134a refrigerant. Ignition shielding is currently missing; air pump is hooked up, but is missing the belt. Original mufflers have given way to a set of resonated exhaust tips with large polished rectangular outlets, which look very nice with the paint scheme. Overall, this is an excellent Crossfire car that needs mostly minor cosmetics to be a show winner! Factory features include power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power steering, power brakes, power driver's seat, air conditioning, tilt-n-tele, cruise, power antenna.
